Description

　この文型は、何かを試みる、または直前の行動を表すときに使われる表現です。 This sentence pattern expresses trying something or doing something just before it happens.

Examples

彼かれがサッカーをしようとすると、雨あめが降ふってきた。He tried to play soccer, but it started to rain.

彼かれは部屋へやを掃除そうじしようとしたが、疲つかれてやめた。He tried to clean his room, but he got tired and stopped.

彼女かのじょは旅行りょこうに行いこうとしたが、天気てんきが悪わるくてやめた。She tried to go on a trip but canceled because of bad weather.

彼かれは電話でんわをしようとしなかった。He didn't try to call.

学生がくせいたちは先生せんせいに質問しつもんしようとしました。The students tried to ask the teacher a question.
