数量詞 + も

Description

　数量詞と「も」が一緒に使われることで、予想以上に多い数量を強調します。この文型は、話者が数量の多さや意外性を強調したいときに使われ、少ない数量には使われません。 When a quantity word is used with「〜も」, it emphasizes an unexpectedly large quantity. This sentence pattern is used when the speaker wants to emphasize the large or surprising amount and is not used with small amounts.

Examples

そのクラスには、学生がくせいが100人にんもいます。There are as many as 100 students in that class.

彼女かのじょは１時間いちじかんも遅刻ちこくしました。She was as much as an hour late.

会議かいぎが３時間さんじかんも続つづきました。The meeting lasted for as long as 3 hours.

その映画えいがを５回ごかいも見みました。I watched that movie as many as 5 times.
