Usage

Description

　「〜べき」は、ある行動や状態が適切である、またはそうする必要があると考えられる場合に使われる表現で、主に義務的な行動や、強く推奨される行動を表します。また、「するべき」は、「すべき」とも言えます。「〜べき」is used to indicate that a certain action or state is appropriate or necessary. It is mainly used to express obligations or strongly recommended actions. “〜するべき” can also be written as “〜すべき.”

Examples

彼かれには謝あやまるべきだと思おもう。I think you should apologize to him.

やるべきことは、きちんとやらなければならない。You must do what you should do properly.

我々われわれはもっと真剣しんけんに環境問題かんきょうもんだいに取とり組くむべきだ。We should take environmental issues more seriously.
