Description

　この文型は、動詞ます形に接続して、その行為が起こる可能性が低い、または実現することが難しい、という意味を表す表現で、話し手が何かが起こる可能性が非常に低いと感じるときに使われます。 This sentence pattern is used to express that the likelihood of an event happening is low or that it is difficult to realize. It is used when the speaker feels that something is very unlikely to occur.

Examples

彼かれは忙いそがしそうなので、手伝てつだってもらえそうにない。He seems busy, so it doesn’t look like he can help us.

この雨あめでは、今日きょうは外そとで遊あそべそうにない。With this rain, it doesn’t look like we’ll be able to play outside today.

このプロジェクトが発表はっぴょうされたとき、とても期限内きげんないに終おわりそうもなかった。When this project was announced, it seemed like there was no way it would be completed on time.
