A :
最近さ、円安がすごく進んでるよね。1ドルが160円近くになってるらしいよ。
A :
The yen’s been weakening a lot lately. I heard it’s almost 160 yen to the dollar.
B :
え、そんなに！？それって私たちの生活にも影響あるの？
B :
What, seriously!? Does that affect our daily lives too?
A :
うん。輸入品の価格が上がってて、例えば海外からの食材とか燃料とかが値上がりしてるみたい。
A :
Yeah. Imported goods are getting more expensive—like food ingredients and fuel from overseas.
B :
確かに、最近スーパーでお菓子とかが高く感じる…それが原因かな？
B :
That makes sense. Lately even snacks at the supermarket feel more expensive… maybe that’s why?
A :
そうかも。あと、アメリカが関税を増やしてるってニュースもあって、日本企業の輸出とかにも影響出てるらしいよ。
A :
Probably. And there was news about the U.S. raising tariffs, which could impact Japanese exports too.
B :
関税ってなんかあんま関係ない話に思ってたけど、身近に感じるね。
B :
I always thought tariffs had nothing to do with me, but it actually feels pretty relevant.
A :
うん。円安で輸出にはプラスだけど、私たち消費者にはマイナスも多いって言われてる。
A :
Yeah. A weak yen helps exports, but for us consumers, it has more downsides.
B :
なんだか複雑だね。でも、給料はあまり上がってないのに物価だけ上がるのは困るよね。
B :
It’s complicated… And prices keep going up even though salaries aren’t rising much. It’s tough.
A :
本当だね。これからどうなるか気になる。
A :
