北川さん、最近ニコンの一眼レフを買ったんです。旅行先の風景をきれいに撮りたくて。
A :
Kitagawa, I recently bought a Nikon DSLR. I wanted to take nicer landscape photos when I travel.
B :
そうなんですね。どの機種を買われたんですか？
B :
Oh, really? Which model did you get?
A :
D7500です。まだ設定がよく分からなくて、いつもオートで撮ってます。
A :
The D7500. But I’m not familiar with the settings yet, so I’ve been shooting in auto mode.
B :
最初はそれで大丈夫ですよ。まずは構図や光の方向を意識するといいと思います。
B :
That’s totally fine at first. Try focusing on composition and the direction of light.
A :
構図って、やっぱり難しいですね。何かコツがありますか？
A :
Composition is tough… any tips?
B :
三分割構図って聞いたことありますか？被写体を画面の中央じゃなくて、少し端に置くとバランスがよく見えます。
B :
Have you heard of the Rule of Thirds? Putting the subject slightly off-center instead of right in the middle makes the photo look more balanced.
A :
なるほど、勉強になります。あと、旅行中は昼に撮ることが多いんですが、光が強すぎて…。
A :
I see, that’s helpful. Also, I usually take photos during the day when I travel, but the light is too strong…
B :
昼は影がきつくなりやすいですからね。朝か夕方の柔らかい光の時間帯がおすすめです。
B :
Daytime shadows tend to be harsh. I recommend shooting in the morning or evening when the light is softer.
A :
そうなんですね。今度試してみます。北川さんは普段どんな写真を撮っているんですか？
A :
Got it. I’ll try that next time. What kind of photos do you usually take, Kitagawa?
B :
ポートレートですね。お客様のプロフィール写真とか、自然光を使って、表情を引き出すのが楽しいです。
B :
Portraits—like profile photos for clients. Using natural light to bring out their expressions is really fun.
A :
すごいですね。いつか風景と人物の両方を上手く撮れるようになりたいです。
A :
That’s amazing. I hope I can eventually get good at both landscapes and portraits.
B :
