Description

　「〜手前」は、他者の視線や立場に配慮して、あるいは自分の責任感から、ある行動を取らざるを得ない状況を説明するときに使われます。特に、他人に対して見栄を張ったり、面子を守ったりするために行動する場合に用いられることが多いです。「〜手前」 is used to explain actions taken out of consideration for others’ views or one’s sense of responsibility. It is commonly used to describe actions taken to maintain appearances or protect one’s pride, particularly in front of others.
