説明

　この文型は、ある表現や状況について、前に述べた内容よりも後の内容のほうが適切であると判断するときに使われる表現です。　This sentence pattern is used when expressing that the latter content is more appropriate than the former, especially when making a judgment about which content or situation is more suitable.

例文

彼かれは疲つかれているというより、むしろ飽あきているようだ。Rather than being tired, he seems more like he’s bored.

これは料理りょうりというより、芸術作品げいじゅつさくひんだ。This is more of a work of art than a dish.

彼女かのじょは賢かしこいというより、ずる賢がしこいと言いった方ほうがいい。Rather than saying she’s smart, it would be more accurate to say she’s cunning.

彼かれの言い方かたは厳きびしいというよりも、冷つめたい。His way of speaking is more cold than harsh.
