Description

　「〜ておく」は、準備や保留のためにある動作を事前に行うことを表す表現です。口語では「〜ておく」が「〜とく」に短縮されることがあります。「〜ておく」is used to express performing an action in advance for preparation or to keep something in reserve. In colloquial speech, it can be shortened to 「〜とく」.

Examples

お客様きゃくさまのために資料しりょうを準備じゅんびしておきます。I will prepare the materials for the customer.

宿題しゅくだいを忘わすれないようにメモしておいてください。Please make a note so you don’t forget the homework.

災害さいがいに備そなえて食料しょくりょうを蓄たくわえておくことが重要じゅうようです。It is important to store food in preparation for disasters.

先さきにホテルを予約よやくしとくね。I will book the hotel before the trip.
