動詞た形 + つもりで

Description

　この文型は、実際には行っていないが、あたかもその行動をしたかのように感じる、または、その行動をしたかのように他のことを行うという意味を持つ表現です。特定の行動を仮定して、その結果を強調するときに使われます。 This sentence pattern expresses that although the action has not been performed, the speaker feels as if they have done it or performs another action as though the first action was done. It is used to hypothesize an action and emphasize its result.

Examples

新あたらしい服ふくを買かったつもりで、貯金ちょきんしました。I saved money as if I had bought new clothes.

旅行りょこうに行いったつもりで、写真しゃしんを整理せいりしました。I organized the photos and treated it as a trip.

ジムに行いったつもりで、自宅じたくで運動うんどうしました。I exercised at home as if I had gone to the gym.

スパに行いったつもりで、家いえでリラックスしました。I pretended I was at the spa and relaxed at home.

外食がいしょくしたつもりで、家いえで料理りょうりを作つくりました。I cooked at home as if I had eaten out.
