Description

　この文型は、実際にはそうではないが、まるでそうであるかのように振る舞うことを表します。他人を欺くためや、何かを隠すために使われます。 This sentence pattern expresses that the speaker is pretending something is true, even though it is not, often to deceive others or hide something.

Examples

彼かれは病気びょうきのふりをして、学校がっこうを休やすんだ。He pretended to be sick to skip school.

彼かれは知しっているふりをしていたが、実際じっさいには知しらなかった。He pretended to know, but he actually didn’t.

彼女かのじょはお金持かねもちのふりをしながら、人ひとを騙だましていた。She pretended to be rich and was deceiving people.

彼かれはそのことについて何なにも知しらないふりをしました。He pretended to know nothing about it.

彼女かのじょはよく自信じしんがあるふりをする。She often pretends to be confident.
