Description
この文型は、実際には起こったことを、まるで起こらなかったかのように扱うことを表す表現です。過去の出来事を無視したり、意図的に忘れたふりをする場合に使われます。 This sentence pattern is used to disregard or pretend that something did not happen in the past. It implies the speaker is intentionally ignoring or forgetting an event.
Examples
あの会社との契約の話はなかったことにしましょう。Let's pretend the contract talk with that company never happened.
この話はなかったことにしてください。Please pretend this conversation never happened.
彼の言葉は聞かなかったことにして、計画を進めよう。Let’s proceed with the plan as if we never heard his words.
過去の過ちをなかったことにするのは難しい。It’s hard to pretend past mistakes never happened.
