Description

　この文型は、話し手がいくつかの言葉を挙げて、そのいずれかが適切だと感じつつも、なんとも言い切れない場合に使われる表現です。感情や状況を説明する際、適切な言葉を選びかねている時に使うことが多いです。 This sentence pattern is used when the speaker is unsure and cannot express the exact word but still feels that one of the options is appropriate. It is often used when selecting the right word to explain emotions or situations.

Examples

彼かれの行動こうどうは大胆だいたんというか、無謀むぼうというか、とにかく驚おどろいた。His actions were either bold or reckless—either way, I was surprised.

寂さびしいというか、情なさけないというか、なんとも言いえない気持きもちだ。I feel lonely, or rather pathetic—I can’t quite put it into words.

これはりんごというかミカンというか、よく分わからない果物くだものだ。This is a fruit that I'm not sure if it's an apple or a mandarin orange.
