動詞ます形 + 直す

Description

　「〜直す」は、動詞ます形に接続して、再び同じ動作を行うことを表す表現です。何かをもう一度実行する、修正する、改めるといった意味を強調するときに使われます。 “〜直す” is a sentence pattern used with the masu-stem of verbs to indicate the repetition of an action, such as doing something again, fixing, or correcting something.

Examples

彼かれは手紙てがみをもう一度いちど書かき直なおすことにした。He decided to rewrite the letter.

報告書ほうこくしょをやり直なおす。Redo the report.
