普通文との + ことだ

Description

　この文型は、他人から聞いた情報や伝聞を表現するときに使われる表現です。主に書き言葉で用いられ、よりフォーマルな状況で使用されます。 This sentence pattern is used when expressing information or hearsay that was received from others. It is commonly used in formal writing or situations.

Examples

報告ほうこくによると、会社かいしゃの経済状況けいざいじょうきょうは良好りょうこうとのことだ。According to the report, the company’s financial situation is good.
