Description

　この文型は、情報を伝えたり、他人の話を引用したり、何かの意味や結論を説明するために使われる表現です。 This sentence pattern is used for conveying information, quoting someone, or explaining the meaning or conclusion of something.

Examples

天気予報てんきよほうによると、明日あしたは雨あめが降ふるということだ。According to the weather forecast, it’s going to rain tomorrow.

彼かれは来月らいげつアメリカに転勤てんきんするということです。I heard that he’s being transferred to the U.S. next month.

要ようするに、彼かれはその提案ていあんに反対はんたいしているということでしょう。In short, he is opposed to the proposal.

つまり、このプロジェクトは来月らいげつまでに完成かんせいしなければならないということだ。In other words, this project must be completed by next month.

彼女かのじょからまだ連絡れんらくがないということは、仕事しごとが忙いそがしいということだろう。The fact that she hasn’t contacted us yet probably means she’s busy with work.
