Description
この文型は、ある感情や状態が非常に強く、それを抑えられないことを表す表現です。 This sentence pattern expresses that an emotion or state is so strong that it cannot be controlled.
Examples
昨日から何も食べていないので、お腹が空いてしかたがない。I haven’t eaten anything since yesterday, so I’m extremely hungry.
彼のことが気になってしょうがなかった。I couldn't help thinking about him.
試験の結果が心配でしょうがない。I’m extremely worried about the exam results.
暑くてしかたがないので、冷たい飲み物が欲しい。It’s unbearably hot, so I want a cold drink.
この映画は退屈でしかたがない。This movie is unbearably boring.
