Description

　この文型は、完全には否定せず、可能性や一部の肯定を含んだ控えめな表現です。 This sentence pattern is a mild expression that doesn’t fully deny, including possibilities or partial affirmations.

Examples

この料理りょうりは美味おいしくなくもないが、少すこし味あじが薄うすい。This dish isn’t exactly bad, but it’s a bit bland.

あの映画えいがは面白おもしろくなくもなかったが、特とくに印象いんしょうに残のこるシーンはなかった。The movie wasn’t uninteresting, but there weren’t any particularly memorable scenes.

彼かれの説明せつめいは理解りかいできなくはないが、まだ納得なっとくできない部分ぶぶんがある。I can understand his explanation, but there are still parts I’m not convinced by.

その可能性かのうせいはなくはないだろう。It's not impossible.
