Description

　「〜以上は」は、ある条件や状況を前提として、それに基づいた強い決意や義務、または当然の結果を述べるときに使われる表現です。「〜からには」と同様の意味を持ち、特にフォーマルな場面で使われることが多いです。「〜以上は」is used to express strong determination, obligation, or an inevitable result based on certain conditions or situations. It is often used in formal contexts and has a meaning similar to「〜からには」.

Examples

約束やくそくした以上いじょう、守まもるべきです。Now that you’ve made a promise, you should keep it.

会議かいぎで決定けっていした以上いじょうは、計画けいかくを進すすめるしかありません。Since it was decided in the meeting, we have no choice but to proceed with the plan.
