Description

　この文型は、理由や原因を曖昧に伝えるときに使われる表現です。具体的な理由や原因を明確にしないまま、話し手が聞いた情報や推測に基づいて説明する場合によく使われます。 This sentence pattern is used when conveying a reason or cause in a vague manner. It is used when the speaker explains something based on hearsay or assumptions without clarifying the actual reason or cause.

Examples

彼かれは風邪かぜをひいたとかで、今日きょうは欠席けっせきするらしい。I heard he caught a cold, so it seems he’s absent today.

彼女かのじょは家族かぞくの事情じじょうとかで、急きゅうに仕事しごとを辞やめたらしい。I heard she quit her job suddenly because of some family issues.

交通事故こうつうじこがあったとかで、電車でんしゃが遅おくれているみたいだ。I heard there was a traffic accident, so the train seems to be delayed.

あのレストラン、閉店へいてんしたとかで、今いまはもう営業えいぎょうしていないんだって。I heard that restaurant closed down, so it’s not in business anymore.

彼かれらは何なにかの誤解ごかいがあったとかで、最近さいきん話はなしていないらしい。I heard there was some misunderstanding, so they haven’t been talking recently.
